Questions

The following are a few of the questions we get asked regularly. Please check if your question is already answered here before contacting us. But of course, if you have something else on your mind, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

We need a very large (or very small) project done. Is this outside of Digital Unleashed's usual scope?

We judge our capacity to do projects on an individual basis, according to various factors. These factors include how familiar we are with the kind of work in question, the project deadline, how well defined the project is, etc. If you would like us to do some work for you, then please get in touch: it never hurts to ask.

What steps are involved in project development through Digital Unleashed?

Generally, there are a number of steps:

  1. Initial project specification, where our clients tell us what they're looking for. We can provide templates to help clarify what needs to be provided, and, just as importantly, what is best left to our expertise.

  2. Discussions with us, where we help you to refine this specification and come up with a viable, modern website that will work best for all your customers.

  3. Decision on work to be done. This concludes the initial discussion and elaboration phase.

  4. Initial mockups where appropriate, based on previously decided goals.

  5. Agreement on direction of mockups, perhaps more refinement of mockups before proceeding.

  6. Site construction, possibly including ongoing discussion of issues, demonstration of work, and feedback from clients.

  7. Final payment, followed by project handover to clients (including domain registration, final site setup, etc.)

Some of these steps (such as mockups and agreement) may be repeated until a firm design is decided upon by both parties. This ensures that we are all "on the same page", and that everyone will be happy with the final results. Obviously, this process cannot go on forever, so we do reserve the right to draw the line after a certain number of repetitions, and ask for a final decision.

Please note that ongoing involvement from you is crucial to your satisfaction, and to the ideal evolution of the project. Especially in the case of developing your company's own website, you should be think of this as a partnership, rather than a project to be simply handed off to us until finished.

In particular, you should be sure all relevant staff within your organisation's different departments are committed to providing any necessary information. Many organisation's websites are designed with great features, which are then neglected by staff within the organisation itself. This makes your company look bad, rather than good, so we try to do everything possible to ease and encourage your ongoing commitment to your own website.
